Ripjar Awarded as 2020 Technology Pioneer by World Economic Forum

London, UK, 16 June, 2020 – Ripjar, a leading data analytics company at the forefront of the fight against criminal activity, was selected from among hundreds of candidates as one of the World Economic Forum’s “Technology Pioneers”. Ripjar has been honoured as a leading innovator, deploying advanced analytics to uncover risk, enabling corporates and government agencies to counter global threats to their organisations.

The World Economic Forum’s Technology Pioneers are early to growth-stage companies from around the world that are involved in the design, development and deployment of new technologies and innovations, and are poised to have a significant impact on business and society.

Ripjar makes it possible for organisations to scale their ability to understand and identify risk. The company’s market leading software – Labyrinth – a scalable, secure, entity analytics platform, empowers global institutions to identify complex criminal networks and behaviours that undermine their security. Following its selection as a Technology Pioneer, Ripjar CEO Jeremy Annis will be invited to participate at World Economic Forum activities, events and discussions throughout the year. Ripjar will also contribute to Forum initiatives over the next two years, working with policymakers and private sector leaders to help define the global agenda on key issues such as intelligence-sharing and the use of advanced analytics to counteract criminal activities.

“We’re excited to welcome Ripjar to our 20th cohort of Technology Pioneers,” says Susan Nesbitt, Head of the Global Innovators Community, World Economic Forum. “Ripjar and its fellow pioneers are developing cutting edge technologies all over the world. Beyond their innovations, these firms are contributing greatly to improving the state of the world.”

“It’s an incredible honour to be recognised as a pioneer by the World Economic Forum and highlights the value that global institutions are getting from our technology”, said Ripjar’s CEO Jeremy Annis. “It’s confirmation that our technology is a vital piece of the solution to the chronic risks to society posed by organised criminal groups”.

This year’s cohort selection marks the 20th anniversary of the Tech Pioneers community. Throughout its 20-year run, many Technology Pioneers have continuously contributed to advancement in their industries, while some have even gone on to become household names. Past recipients include Palantir Technologies, Google, Twitter, Cloudflare, Mozilla, Spotify and Wikimedia.
